Meaning "People of the Big Hill", the Seneca nation is member of the Haudonesaunee Confederacy. Geographically located on the western end of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Seneca are called the "Keepers of the Western Door" and are responsible for protecting the western entrance into Haudenosaunee territory.
