Often associated with youth, Apollo was ideally depicted as a beautiful young man with an athletic body. As a god of oracles, arts, archery, healing and also sunlight, his most common attributes were the lyre, the bow and arrows, the raven, and the laurel wreath. He was also commonly depicted slaying the monstrous serpent Python with his arrows.
