The Continental Army was the main military force of the newly-formed United States during the American Revolutionary War.

General George Washington was the Commander-in-Chief of the army throughout the war. The Continental Army was created to revolt against the British Empire and successfully drove them out in 1783 after the Treaty of Paris. They would later be disbanded and the remaining units would later be merged into the United States Army.
