The Constantinople Assassins Guild was founded during the Renaissance[1][2] and was allied with the Ottoman royal house.[3]
History
1204 formation attempt
In the year 1204, during the Fourth Crusade, Grand Master of the Assassin Order, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, attempted to spread the Order's influence to Constantinople. However, the chaos that was caused by the Fourth Crusade forced Altaïr and the Assassins to flee from the city.[4]
Formation
In the year 1257, the explorers Niccolò and Maffeo Polo were invited by Altaïr's son Darim to the Assassins' headquarters of Masyaf to meet Altaïr. Altaïr explained to the explorers that he wanted them to return to their hometown of Constantinople and form a guild there, and in Italy. The explorers travelled to Constantinople, hiding the five seals Altaïr had given them throughout the city and formed an Assassins Guild.[4]
Fight against the Byzantines
In the year 1511, the guild was led by Yusuf Tazim and were allies of the Ottomans. That same year, Ezio Auditore da Firenze moved to Constantinople and the guild engaged in a fight against the remnants of the Byzantine Empire, who were puppeteered by the Templars.[3]
