Constantine I
Constantine the Great (27 February c. 272 – 22 May 337), also known as Constantine I or Saint Constantine was the Emperor of Rome from 306 to his death.
After defeating the Emperors Maxentius and Licinius, Constantine became the Emperor of both the eastern and western part of the Roman Empire.[1]
He then made Christianity the official religion of the Empire, and moved the capital to Byzantium, renaming it Constantinople. This saw the beginning of the Byzantine Empire.[2]
