The Citadel of Salah Al'Din was from 1176 to 1193 the fortress and residence of Saladin, commander of the Muslim armies during the Third Crusade, who was also responsible for fortifying the citadel's walls. It was located in the northern rich district of Damascus.

Trivia

  • A view point is located on the inner residence building.
  • One of the main outer walls is partially destroyed. This might be due to the recent fortification.
