Chios, also called Chora, is the main town of the island of Chios, located within the Affluence Bay.

During the Peloponnesian War the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the city.

• The Greek word χώρα (khṓrā) means 'town, village', and was often used of the main settlement of the area.
