Charioteer of Delphi

The Charioteer of Delphi was a statue given to the Sanctuary of Delphi by Polyzelos, the Tyrant of Gela, to commemorate his victory at the chariot race during the Pythian Games of 470s BCE.

The statue stood in front of the sanctuary of the Pythia and was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra during the Peloponnesian War.[1]
