Adexios Naftis Shipwreck

The Adexios Naftis Shipwreck was a shipwreck in Lake Mareotis, north of the Egyptian village of Yamu.

In 48 BCE, the shipwreck was explored by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa, who looted the valuables that have been left behind.[1]

  • The shipwreck's name is a combination of the Greek words adexios (αδέξιος) meaning "slouch" and naftis (ναύτης) meaning "ship" or "sailor".
