The Castillo San Salvador de la Punta was a Spanish fort in the city of Havana, Cuba.

Although construction begun in 1590, it took decades to complete; it was close enough to the Castillo Moro, which lay on the opposite side of Havana's harbor, to permit the use of a large metal chain to protect said harbor from enemy incursion.

History

In 1715 the Castillo housed the city guards' "loot room", and it was here that any items of value confiscated by the city guards were stored. In July of that year, the pirate Edward Kenway infiltrated the Castillo in order to regain Duncan Walpole's letter to the Governor of Cuba, Laureano de Torres y Ayala, and the accompanying blood vial.

Seven years later, in 1722, the Castillo was once again infiltrated by Edward Kenway, this time acting on behalf of the Assassin Order, in his pursuit of Laureano de Torres, the Grand Master of the Templar Order.
