The Book is used in Bombastus' study to learn how to create gold from other elements. It has blank pages but fills people's minds with ideas when read.

According to Bombastus, seeing too much of the book at a time may cause insanity. When Giovanni looks at it however, he gains the knowledge of crafting the Philosopher's Stone.
