TheCheka was the first police force of the Soviet Union and later the state security of the country. Terror acts.

The NKVD was the official police force of the Soviet Union and its intelligence agency. They were responsible for the killings of many Greeks from Pontus. Terror acts.

The Workers and Peasants Militia was a civilian police force of the Bolsheviks. They didn't play a basic role in terror acts.

The Red Army was the military of the Soviet Union and took part in battles against the forces of the Tsar. Terror acts.
