Basim approached the man, clearly dressed in the Hidden Ones robes.
Naaji:It is all right, I know you.
Basim:I cannot place your face, but you bear our mark.
Naaji:I am Naaji, one of MentorRayhan's informers. I asked for a more difficult assignment but maybe I should not have.
Basim agreeing to help Naaji in his mission
Basim:Tell me the problem.
Naaji:I tracked a pair of corrupt guards to the place where they take their bribes, but I do not think I can handle both.
Basim:Well done so far. Between us, we can finish the job. Follow my lead.
Basim followed Naaji as they entered alley and hid behind a sandbag. Basim took the first action by killing one of the guards. This escalated into an open fight.
Basim and Naaji reflecting on the mission
Naaji: (surprised grunt)
Soldier:Look out! We're being attacked!
Naaji:Argh! That bastard cut me! He cut me!
More guards showed up.
Basim:Oh... This job has just gotten a whole lot harder.
Basim and Naaj managed to defeat the guards and regrouped.
Naaji:Oh, Basim, you... you have done it?
Basim:Congratulations! Your first official assignment as a Hidden One is complete!
Naaji:I could not have done it without your help.
Basim:Nonsense! With a little more training, you will do fine. You simply need more confidence.
Naaji:You...really think so?
Basim:I do. Only a rare few succeed perfectly on their first attempt. Do not give up.
Naaji:Thank you, Basim. I shall report back to Mentor Rahan and see what he says.
He ran off.
Naaji:I almost had him... I think.
Basim:You do not have the steady nerves to follow through on your targets, but you did show intelligence in tracking them. Maybe you could still serve the Hidden Ones. Not with your blade, but with your mind.
Naaji:You mean by helping to identify and locate targets? That sort of thing?
Basim:Exactly! Our actions must be guided by knowledge, and some are simply better at gethering it.
Naaji:Thank you, Basim. I shall report back to Mentor Rayhan and see what he says.
