Parrots are colorful birds with curved beaks, colorful plumage, and racous screeching cries. They typically congregate in large flocks, aptly termed pandemoniums, throughout tropical and subtropical regions including the Caribbean. Their diet consists mainly of seeds, nuts, and fruit, thought some species will also eat carrion.

Parrots are intelligent birds known for their ability to mimic sounds, including human speech.
