Cattle are large domestic bovines kept for their milk, meat, and labor. They are herbivores, generally feeding on grass, and have distinctive cloven hooves.

Cattle have four-chambered stomachs that allow for the fermentation and digestion of tough plant fibers. They are ruminants, regurgitating and rechewing their food multiple times.
