Reverend Benjamin Tallmadge (1 January 1725 - 5 February 1786) was a priest from Connecticut, and a member of the Colonial Assassins.

Tallmadge was born in New Haven to an English father. He graduated Yale College in 1747, and married Susannah Smith, the daughter of a priest from New York, in 1750. They had five sons together from 1752 to 1762: William, Benjamin, Jr., Samuel, John and Isaac. In 1753, Benjamin, Sr. was ordained in Brookhaven, New York.

Tallmadge survived the Templars' destruction of the Colonial Order in 1763, only to lose his wife five years later. In 1770, he married Zipporah Strong.

During the American Revolutionary War, his son Benjamin organized the spy network the Culper Ring, and helped the Assassins foil a Templar plot on the life of George Washington in 1776. William died that year in a British prison.

Tallmadge died in Brookhaven in 1786.
