Sumoto Docks

Sumoto Docks was a dock in the town of Sumoto in Awaji, Japan.

History[edit | edit source]

In 1585, the Kakushiba ikki member and Igan shinobi Fujibayashi Naoe arrived in Awaji and started her investigation by asking the locals for any information on another shinobi being held captive. Despite most of the locals being curt with her, she eavesdropped at a stables nearby the docks and learned about intel being held at the Samurai Residence. With this info, she left to inspect the residence.[1]

Fortuantely, Naoe and her fellow Kakushiba ikki member and samurai Yasuke rescued her mother Tsuyu from the Japanese Templar Kimura Yukari, daughter of the deceased Templar Kimura Kei.[2] From their combined efforts, the Assassins decimated Yukari's army, the Sanzoku Ippa, by eliminating her Templar taishō (大将, lit. "general")[3][4][5], killed Yukari,[6] and recovered the sword Kusanagi no Tsurugi, one of the Imperial Regalia of Japan, from Templars' hands.[7]

After Naoe and Tsuyu returned all three Regalia to Emperor Ōgimachi,[7] Naoe and Yasuke returned to Awaji and met with Hattori Hanzō's contact Konatsu, whom they agreed to help in eliminating the remaining Sanzoku Ippa operatives. From their investigation, they found one of Yasuhira's spies Yamanouchi Tobei by the docks. There, they assassinated Tobei and recovered a teppō Pinprick and a note accusing two shinobi near Kannoji Temple and Yamane Ichi as traitors from Tobei's personal effects.[8] While there, the pair climbed atop the watchtower at the docks and surveyed Sumoto.[9]
