The real reason the game fails is its handling of history. 98% of the historical details in the game is a lie from beginning to end. There's no way Robespierre makes any sense as a Templar (in the series lore) or Templar-puppet to any serious reader of history. Ideally, he should have been an Assassin. If the game had real b-lls than the French Revolution would feature the Assassins getting their hands dirty and involve themselves in the grayer aspects of history. I mean the Guillotine is nothing more than an enlarged hidden blade if you look at it carefully. Instead they came up with a BS plot that avoids any real issues that makes the Assassins a bunch of chickenbrained idiots and we end up rooting for Bellec to strangle pisspot. 

Far and away a failure - story, gameplay, character- 2/10.
