We have not been there before. Julius Caesar 67BC, Ezio Auditore 1500AD. They may have taken place within the same cities but take the Colosseum for instance, it was constructed in 80AD so when Julius Caesar was around it did not exist, the Roman Forums were ruins in Ezio's timeline while in Caesar's they were still used albeit not even finished as later more things were included onto it. The aquaducts through out the game were ruins and broken albeit back in this time some of those had not even been constructed yet and others were perfectly working.
