And again the line between 'good' and 'bad' is drawn between the Assassins and Templars. It seems that Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed: Revelations and especially Assassin's Creed: The Chain didn't do much effect to convince people that neither faction is 'good' or 'bad.' If you aren't convinced at this point, you really need to go get The Chain.

There is nothing to suggest that Daniel will turn good before he dies, or even if he dies. People just like to speculate; given his past experiences with the Assassins and the common assumption that Templars are bad, people believe that Daniel will 'see the light' and turn on the Templars. While I wouldn't be very surprised and I kind of would like Daniel to get some payback on Vidic for what Vidic did to him during his youth, he seems to have become one of Vidic's closest friends and colleagues by now and I have difficulty seeing it happening. Daniel is a very interesting character, but I rather wanted him to be 'special' in his own right, not be so intertwined with Desmond's story. I don't really like the approach they're taking right now.
