Yeah, this blog was more of an analysis than anything else. There's not much Ubisoft can do. They're stuck with those plot elements. By introducing the First Civilisation and 2012 aspects to the story, I feel they restricted the longevity of the overarching story. When your story is written in such a way that it must unfold on an arc, it's important to get the length right. Infamous did this really well. It set the stage for the story, and it spawned one sequel, which promptly wrapped up the plot. And you know what? It felt perfect. It didn't need 5 sequels that felt like they were just artificially extending the plotline. The series was of perfect length. At the end of Assassin's Creed III, I felt like they kept going where they should have stopped. This story arc wasn't meant to keep going, but like Forrest Gump in the Special Olympics, it just keeps running, despite crossing the finish line miles ago.
