- ―Barry, on taking in Shay Cormac, 1755.[src]
Barry Finnegan was an ally to the Templar Order who lived in New York in the 18th century. He and his wife Cassidy were the parents of a Templar agent who died under unknown circumstances before 1755.
In November of that year, the Finnegans found and took in a wounded Shay Cormac, who had just abandoned the Assassin Order. While Shay recuperated in the Finnegan house, he came to know and grow indebted to the couple, and even defended them from members of a local gang when the criminals broke into their home.
After the bandits fled, Cassidy handed Shay their son's robes, while Barry retrieved the weapons they had found with Shay after he had escaped from the Davenport Homestead. Clothed and armed, Shay went out into the streets to eliminate the gang, and returned to the Finnegan household after having done so. Barry and Cassidy then left Shay and his new ally, Lieutenant-Colonel George Monro, to discuss their next steps in combating the gangs of New York.
