'Besides I don't give a rat's ass about that goddamn Templar layer'

It was not a Templar lair, it was the remnants of the Byzantine People that, I guess didn't want to call the Sultan, well, Sultan. By your thinking, Rome should have just been blown up as well.

And saying that the tenants are no longer important kinda just defeats what the assassins do. Even Altair knew that the three tenants were ironic, (The Three Ironies as he developed as their counter) I think they way the assassins see it is as a small evil for the greater good...They are no better than the Templars; Only Shawn, Altair and Al Mualim actually saw this.
