No, I don't think you're an idiot. But the blurb says, "journey that will transform him into a Master Assassin" (emphasis mine). This implies that by the end of ACIII, yes, Connor will be a Master Assassin. But at the outset, he will probably be much like Ezio in ACII, where we track his growth from civilian to Master Assassin. So the story arc will probably be closer to ACII than the original AC.
