Altaïr had problems to make the hidden blade because the material to do it was very hard and rare to find, so you expect to him to make a piece of eden, a thing with great powers with any easy shitty material? I'm sorry, but this sounds too stupid to discuss and they never said that the weapon was a piece of eden despite being the most probable opinion.
