Yeah, Desmond could have been anywhere in the whole world when they abducted him. Plus, it depends on Revelations. Does Ezio go back to Italy after his adventures in Constantinople? Remember when Desmond first got into the Sanctuary and he encountered the ghost of an aged Ezio from the bleeding effect? Ezio was pretty old there. I imagine that he returns to Monerrigionni after his business in Turkey is done.
