If you play AC: Project Legacy on Facebook, you see that the Shroud was found by Mario Auditore under the Villa Auditore, and the last I'm aware of, Giovanni Auditore took it to a tower (I can't remember where). The Shroud was used by another Assassin to heal his son, who was also Lucrezia Borgia's son, but Cesare raises him as his son, the boy (Giovanni Borgia) does eventually become an Assassin, but I'm pretty certain that the Shroud remains in the tower in a place called Agnadello. So I think the SHroud has already been done. I think that what will be found under Maysaf is either The Sword of Eden (Considering Altair was pretty much a Knight, it would make sense for him to posses it) or, The Book. I'm not sure if the latter is a PoE but if you follow this liknk, http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/The_Book you will see that it appears to be one. It would also serve as a very interesting weapon that could help Ezio and Desmond if he were to find it.
