I would like the conspiracy to be at the very heart of it. Like Ed having to go against the very pirate republic at some point. And this time I would like some severe back-stabbing like in the original games. In AC3 even though Washington was found to be the source of the attack that killed Connor's Mother, he was still a whiner. This time we need a cruel and vicious person behind the scenes who appears as a friend for most of the game.

On the topic of ACR, Ahmet's character wasn't really feel close to the player so his betrayal lacked impact.
