I always love good mysteries. Though I still want all mysteries to be solved, just like you said, there should be pacing. I myself explain the mysteries of my story at a very slow pace. You can get to the half-way point of my story and still not have nearly enough of the mysteries solved. It helps to keep the audience occupied and keeps things simpler as well.
