I can only tell you the feature is still in the game. As to how it works and what my opinion is on it, you'll have to wait. As it's a new system, it's possible it'll be rough around the edges and future games will improve on it. However, at least the seperation of the buttons apparently prevents us from accidentally running up walls when we don't mean to.
