A bank before renovation.

Banks are economic buildings featured within Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

In the 16th century, the Assassin Ezio Auditore was able to use the bank to view a total percentage of Rome's renovation, as well as withdraw any income that had been deposited into the bank's vault.

Assassin's Creed II

In Assassin's Creed II, banks could be found in the cities of Florence, San Gimignano, Forli and Venice, and were usually guarded by 3 to 4 guards. While banks could only be looted once, some banks held Codex pages, which could be taken to Leonardo da Vinci to decode.

The town of Monteriggioni also had a bank, though it could not be interacted with, only providing income for the money chest at the town's villa after being upgraded at the architect.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, there were ten banks scattered throughout the districts of Rome, which once renovated would increase the limit of florins that could be stored within the bank's vault, as well as boosting the amount of income generated over time.

Also, similarly to the money chest of the Monteriggioni villa, the banks carried a limit to the amount of florins they could contain, and would not deposit any additional income once they were full.

Trivia

A bank in Rome.
  • There is a bug in Brotherhood which allows bankers to be "killed" by melee weapons when Ezio stands close enough to the bank and the armed hand button is pressed. A kill animation will occur for the respective weapon, however, as the bankers would be out of range, it would appear as if Ezio was attacking nothing. After the banker "died," he would return to a standing position and act normally. If the bug was repeated, the player might enter the bank, trapping them inside. However, if the player shoots and kills the civilians outside with projectiles, they will desynchronize and appear out of the bank after the loading screen had finished, freeing themselves.
  • The maximum limit that the bank can hold is 80,000 florins.
