On top of what AdamantiumBladez just said above, it's already been stated by Ubisoft for the past few years that Assassin's Creed III will, in fact, be released in 2012. That's been the set year for the game since it was first mentioned. Ubisoft developers also stated explicitly that Assassin's Creed: Revelations and the short film Assassin's Creed: Embers will detail the last years of Ezio Auditore's life that we'll even get to see. After those two titles, Ezio is done with and we'll be moving on to either a new ancestor or Desmond Miles himself.
