I believe Ubisoft was making dealings with companies such as Sony to make an Assassin's Creed movie, and Ubisoft was very clear that they wanted to pick the script and actors themselves. No movie company agreed to that as they are all too commercial, so Ubisoft got their hands on their own film studio with which they are making the movie themselves now. I'm sure they won't let the movie turn into one of those commercial flops. Or well, I hope.
