i like your idea of a roman assassins creed. however i have thought of a more exciting period of time. during the reign of emperor tiberius (2nd emperor) there was a lot of turmoil and intrigue. he is believed to have poisoned his popular and promising nephew germanicus, jesus christ was crucified and the brutal general sejanus tried to take over. also maybe the game can run into the reign of the next emperor caligula (germanicus' son) he was the worst emperor of all leading a reign of tyranny and insanity. it was also mentioned in ACII that he was killed by the assassins!
