Just to clarify, the ratio (officially) of Prods and Caths in Northern Ireland is 51% to 49%. So it's basically even. Even so, the 51% of those Prods are made up of a LOT of Scottish immigrants and the same concept can apply for Catholic Unionists.

Thus, religion is what people usually assosiate The Troubles with. Which is wrong. It's about people fighting over British Crown Rule since the 16th century, and sadly it has never gone away.
