I think it's good, don't care about whether its patrotic or not, it's good to me because it shows anyone can fight for freedom. Not just the solider, but the priest, prisoner, student and even the mother, since opression affects everyone in civilization.

So to me, it's not showing Americans defeating British, but freedom fighting against order, the core concept of the AC franchise.
