Yes there will be swords and the sawtooth sword is a confirmed reward for the Mayan Ruins mission. While swords where not used as much during that period, they were still considered a gentlemans weapon and many officers and cavalrymen carried them. Some colonist carried blades/swords/machetes too as muskets and rifles where slow to reload and militiamen needed them moreso since they used guerrila tactics in confrontations.
