The problem was emphasized since you just transition to the elevator after pressing the Assassinate button instead of looking at his corpse or giving the iconic catch-phrase. I was like, "that's it? What?" I was really expecting a Shakuku moment where he survived or maybe he turned and blocked the blade at the last second. What an anti-climatic end to a guy Desmond could have killed two times before.
