"Ahh... I see, so the people Ezio killed to reveal Manual are not important because none were Manual's family?"
...no, that's not what I said at all. That's what we call a strawman argument.
"Federico and Giovanni are Assassins, so are active in the AvT and does not count as merely family members. Petruccio is the only one I can say touché on."
And Ezio. He was not currently in-training, so he would qualify as a family member of an Assassin.
"Lets also take William of the list. He was an Assassin."
The distinction there is they specifically captured William because they knew he was Desmond's father. If they had captured a different Assassin, you would have a point.
"Charles was in mourning, Haytham was essentially a member of his "family"."
So it's okay to mass murder innocent people because his feelings were hurt? It's terrible of Ezio does it to reach a target (which to clarify, it is), but fine if Charles does it?
"Torres may have done that... but name one Assassin who has selflessly done as much as Torres to improve lives?"
Doesn't matter. That's irrelevant to the point I was making.
"I have already explained the most likely reasoning for Ahmet."
So it's also okay to kill innocent people to "buy yourself time." Good to know.
"But it is pointless anyway. You have already confirmed the Assassins used the same tactics. and so are just as bad... once or a hundred times... its still been done."
Where did I try to deny that? The Assassins have certainly done many terrible things to get their way, there's no question about that. I was saying that the Templars choice to specifically target innocents is indicative of a vast error in their philosophy.
"I agree with their Philosophy, not necessarily the acts committed in its name."
And therein lies the problem. Their philosophy of order and control by any means necessary leads directly to the acts you say are deplorable. They would be so if the Assassins never existed. As long as their goal is to maintain peace through brainwashing and control, they will always kill those who try to keep their own freedom.
There's a cliche for this. Absolute power corrupts absolutely?
