Unity

Thank you for the advice! There are many categories for Unity, so it can get confusing sometimes. I will definitely take your advice and improve my work. Saving Private Ryan (talk) 17:45, November 30, 2014 (UTC)

Liberation

Hey Crook......

What is the difference between the real life liberation and the in-game liberation???

And in which of the two does it say that you (player) purchased it from abstergo??

Jayam, I'm going to reiterate what Sima said. It's getting a tad annoying answering your questions when you can find the answers yourself by reading the relevant pages.
"In-game Liberation" is the Abstergo entertainment product, "real life Liberation" is Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, the Ubisoft game originally released on PS Vita and then ported to PS3, Xbox360 and PC. Aside from that, there are no real differences - one exists inside a fictional universe, the other exists in the real world. Crook The Constantine District 16:50, December 4, 2014 (UTC)

Frontier

Crook, after Lessons and Revelations when you're in freeroam, I assume you can't just leg it to the other end of the Homestead and try heading for the Frontier, right? Is a path even there, or a memory wall pops up to threaten you with desync like a club bouncer? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:24, December 5, 2014 (UTC)

I actually didn't think to try that - I remember going in the direction of where Myriam's hunting cabin would be in AC3. A memory wall popped up eventually and, following it, seemed to be put there to block my way to the beach - it was gone after I completed Lessons and Revelations. I didn't try in the opposite direction (I think I didn't even travel to the bridge over the river :s). I'll have a look when time allows. Crook The Constantine District 21:28, December 5, 2014 (UTC)
I had a go today. Animus walls on all sides, I'm afraid. You can cross the river via the bridge, but the Animus wall pops up immediately after, so you can't go to the area where all the residents will have their homes, or beyond. The cliff that Shay eventually ends up at, chased by all the Assassins, in "Freewill" is also off-limits actually.
Checked out the little house where you find Faulkner in AC3 as well, but there was nothing of note there either. Crook The Constantine District 15:46, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

Rogue Protagonist

That sucks oh well. But why would they change Silent Protagonist with the drop of a hat they aren't like the historical Assassins. With the Historical Assassins I get why but with the Silent Protagonist it makes no sense. I mean are they going to have new Silent Protagonist in every new Assassin's Creed game. --Cococrash11 (talk) 00:05, December 6, 2014 (UTC)

My wires

They are not crossed. Originally, I was going to chock that up to writing those templates at midnight, but I checked the guide just to make sure :P Stormbeast The Helpful Place 00:18, December 6, 2014 (UTC)

Woops. My bad, Storm :p Silly game guide makers got their wires crossed then. Crook The Constantine District 08:55, December 6, 2014 (UTC)

<small>

So, that argument is missing in all BH/RV fullsynchs, and pretty sure in most of 3 as well. We'll have to both rectify that sometime. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:44, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

Do ACB and ACR have more than one fullsync requirement? Memories with only one don't need the <small> code. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:49, December 8, 2014 (UTC)
Don't they? Whoops, I might've put some of Liberation's memories that have one 1 full sync constraint in <small>. Crook The Constantine District 21:56, December 8, 2014 (UTC)
We're making this happen. For unification's sake. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 16:21, December 9, 2014 (UTC)
Fiiiiiine. So, we're fixing the sizes of the full sync constraints. Shall I start with Revelations then? Crook The Constantine District 16:29, December 9, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I'll tackle BH and AC3. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 16:30, December 9, 2014 (UTC)
'Kay. Are we putting all full sync constraints small, or only the memories that have multiple ones? I'm guessing the former, seeing as I can't remember Brotherhood/Revelations having more than one. Crook The Constantine District 16:34, December 9, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, we're going Full Spectrum Warrior on all of them. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 17:36, December 9, 2014 (UTC)

Slash

I noticed that you've been adding slashes in the dialogue coding. Both I, Crimson and Slate have been removing those since they just add unnecessary coding. Does it actually change anything?--Bovkaffe (talk) 11:02, December 14, 2014 (UTC)

It doesn't, but I am not really the one adding them. Ever since the third memory or so for Rogue, I've just used <br> to move down snippets of dialogue. I think Wikia adds those 'slashes' automatically, so there's not much that I can do about it.
I don't think there's any difference between <br> and <br/> btw, so it's a tad annoying. Sorry :s Crook The Constantine District 11:11, December 14, 2014 (UTC)

Initiates

Where did you get those nice improved images?--Bovkaffe (talk) 14:40, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

Here. If there's one thing Access the Animus is good for, it's finding artists that worked on the franchise :) Crook The Constantine District 14:43, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

IRC

Could you meet me on the IRC at some point in the future? I have a favour to beg of you. --Crimson Knight Intercom 15:16, December 20, 2014 (UTC)

I'll be there in 30-ish minutes. Crook The Constantine District 15:20, December 20, 2014 (UTC)
UPDATE: Make that 'the amount of time it takes me to install a client'. Which, considering my general ineptitude, I don't count being anytime soon tbh. Crook The Constantine District 16:04, December 20, 2014 (UTC)
Aw well. Let me know when you're available. There's no rush. --Crimson Knight Intercom 16:08, December 20, 2014 (UTC)
I'm there and ready to chew Sima out for being all "get a client it's easy bitch". Crook The Constantine District 16:30, December 20, 2014 (UTC)

Oh balls, I completely forgot about this, sorry. I won't really be available much until the 31st, so I hope that works for you. But I have something else to ask. When you played Rogue, did you get Altaïr, Ezio, Connor, Edward, or Arno outfits? Because I should have received them all (except Arno's), but I haven't yet. --Crimson Knight Intercom 01:36, December 27, 2014 (UTC)

I'll try to be there, if I don't forget :p As for the legacy costumes in Rogue, I don't have them either. I frankly doubt they're in there tbh, but who knows. I wonder if someone has a video of Shay in the legacy outfits :s Crook The Constantine District 09:11, December 27, 2014 (UTC)
Well, there's this.
I am peeved. I really want to run around in Edward's robes. --Crimson Knight Intercom 14:33, December 27, 2014 (UTC)

Sharks

Heeeey! Thanks for getting me out of trouble! Oh, and sh**,  i left a post on MasterYiSama or whatever's talk page cause it was at the bottom... -_-. Anyways, Great White Sharks are only found in Serranilla and Charlotte, apparently, I found it in the fine print of a gaming article.

Sima is our bureaucrat - the person in charge if you will. He won't mind your message being there :) Thanks for looking that up, I couldn't find it myself. Just to clarify, I don't edit maliciously. If I remove stuff you wrote, it's because it isn't written according to the rules - I will adapt it if I can, but if it's "out-of-universe" information, it probably can't be salvaged. Alright, thanks for reading ^^ Crook The Constantine District 14:58, December 29, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, we quite obviously disagree on the Great White Shark page... xD. Anyways, I do most certainly think that the Introduction requires a heading, otherwise, it looks strangely tacky (in my personal opinion). Also, if anyone wants actual information on Great White Sharks, they can head over to Wikipidia, but I thought the point of Wikia was to provide facts specificly tailored to the needs of the subject that you created the wikia off of. In this case, we're supposed to provide information about the games, not really Great White Sharks in general... But that is a very decent filler.

Sorry - as I've said in the message on you talkpage, the Assassin's Creed Wiki takes an in-universe approach. It is written like Wikipedia on purpose. It's not merely a personal taste, it's a general rule that editors abide by. I realize this approach might not make every visitor happy, but it's the approach that's been chosen. We aim to be an encyclopedia, not a game guide :s Crook The Constantine District 15:22, December 29, 2014 (UTC)

IRC Problem

Hey, I just wanted to ask how to exactly talk on or even go to the IRC......everytime I go there it asks me my nickname and when I enter it, it always says tha my nick isn't registered...so everytime I enter my email adress, password and then I enter the code sent to my email and then the next time I go on the IRC it asks me to registrate my nick......what's up with that?????

I even have the App 'Hexchat' but there I don't know which lobby is good......or anything. But it doesn't matter as I don't know anybody except the admins and staff members' names........well, except you.

Jayam (talk) 10:20, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

Uh well, you can select "Beginner", which'll take you to the "Connect to Xertion IRC" page. If you've registered your name, all you need to do is type it in. The channel should be filled in already, but if it isn't, type #ACWiki. Press enter, at which point it should ask you to fill in your password.
After that, you should be in. Though webchat can get a bit wonky sometimes :s Some people recommend Hexchat and the like, but I know nothing about how those work so, I can't help you there, I'm afraid.
Nowadays there's not always people, but you'll generally see some of the staff members' names in the list on the right. Storm will usually respond, Sima might not (his nick is always on the list, but he might not actually be present in the chatroom). Crook The Constantine District 10:29, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

IRC Contd.

Hey, the registration problem is finished....thankfully....but i still don't know where to type....or how to respond...that's why i'm not able to respond to you!!

And I still don't know why is Hexchat there when one can talk on the IRC and what lobbies are good where I can actually talk to other people .... Jayam (talk) 10:35, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

There should be a bar at the bottom of the chatroom. Just type in your message there and hit enter :)
Well Hexchat is kind of a different "engine", so to speak. It'll send you to the same chatroom, the layout might just be a little different. As for other lobbies, dunno :P I've only used the irc to chat with the wiki people.Crook The Constantine District 10:38, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

And now again its saying to registrate...and that my nickname is already in use.....this happenned after i accidentally reloaded the page....  :/!!

Jayam (talk) 10:41, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

Wait a short time before logging in again, the previous "you" (the nickname that's already in use) will log out automatically after a minute or so. Crook The Constantine District 10:43, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

Game Patch Request By March 10

Hello There, I Just wanted to let you know that AC:Rogue has major bugs in naval gamplay and the combat in this game.

List of In-Game Problems

  • Problem 1: How come british ships are coyping the names form Assasisin's creed IV:Black Flag?
  • Problem 2: How did the british troops attack shay while he is a templar? and French troops attack him as an Assassin; Doesn't he help them win the Seven Years War?
  • Problem 3: Why Didn't the Russian/Spainish ships appeared in the game?; They were supposed to be fighting alongside the French.
  • Problem 4: Why did the Naval Battle music plays only one song.
  • Problem 5: Why there are only (12 Ship of the line/Man O' War), (9 frigate), (10 brig) and (14 schonner), ship names in the french navy fleet?
  • Problem 6: How there are only Two levels of Man O' War 36 and 49 in this game. They should range from levels 30 (56 Firepower-8 Speed), 36 (63 Firepower-9 Speed), 49 (66 Firepower-20 Speed), 60 (70 Firepower -30 Speed), and 73 (82 Firepower-44 Speed).
  • Problem 7: How come the Legendary Battles copied the ships from black flag?
  • Problem 8: The French ships 'colors of the sails and hulls are not exactly the actual color in the seven years war.
  • Problem 9: The last and the most serious problem of the game are the graphics. They tend to glitch randomly in the game.

And btw, Tell Ubisoft Games about that.

I don't work for Ubisoft. Also, none of things you're listing are "bugs", except for the last one :s Crook The Constantine District 08:26, February 15, 2015 (UTC)

Source

Since you always find concept pieces, would you trace this to its origin? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:45, February 15, 2015 (UTC)

Is this your own scan? I can't really say anything from looking at the piece of art itself. Usually I find concept art by looking for an artist's watermark ^^; If the scan's yours, you could check the names listed in the credits of the art book (this is a scan from the art book, yes?), and we could narrow it down from there.
My guess right now (that isn't really based on anything) would probably be Patrick Lambert :P Unfortunately, he posts none of his work online so there's no way I could check. Crook The Constantine District 20:51, February 15, 2015 (UTC)
Nah, I nabbed it from german wiki when looking for how much images were stolen from us by now. Sometimes I find things like this over there, though. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:58, February 15, 2015 (UTC)

Papers Please

Ok no need to jell (which i say a lot), now i fixed the mistake i made but just to be fair i checked the date on the game it only said it came out in 2013 i could not have know that, but the point is i fixed it and i will not try again. --Ghost127 (talk) 19:42, February 22, 2015 (UTC)-Ghost127

Sourcing images

Is that really such a priority here? Your buddy here does not appear to be very versed in the ways of copyright, yet he has uploaded several images with faulty licensing information. None of his uploads are CC BY-SA 3.0 by any stretch of the imagination, all are clearly copyrighted and could only be spammed like that via fair use. None of the other wikias seem particularly bothered by that. As far as my image, that is the only perspective that the game gives. Pixel Cube (talk) 14:30, March 2, 2015 (UTC)

Sourcing images is a priority here, yes - unsourced images will be deleted. I'll make sure to alert TheHiddenBlade as to the correct licensing method. As for your own image, I'd suggest moving it to the Easter Eggs article. Thank you for your quick response :) Crook The Constantine District 14:36, March 2, 2015 (UTC)

Omelette au fromage. They should be awestruck that you said it correctly, using au instead of du. If they aren't, just tell them they're uncouth wankers for missing Dexter's Lab reference, flip the table and leave the room. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 19:05, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

Well, I did the test today, and I think I did alright. Counts for 30% of my final grade though, which is daunting. Still, thank you all for you advice.

I have to admit though, I can't wait until May, when I'll never have to speak French again. Decided to drop it as a subject. --Crimson Knight Intercom 22:20, March 17, 2015 (UTC)

Modern Day Events' Purpose

Hey........its me again! :P......i've been meaning to ask this for a long time........my question is...

Why exactly are the players i AC Unity and Rogue reliving memories........is there any purpose of the Assassins or Templars???

Like in the previous games it was to acquire the location of the Apple of eden or to acquire the location of the Grand Temple Key, Observatory.....to make Desmond come out of his Coma......

So is there any purpose for reliving the memories of Shay Cormac and Arno Dorian?????

If yes....what are the factions upto??? What are they trying to achieve this time?????

And what happenned when the Templars did find the Observatory??? I haven't played AC4 and neither AC rogue or Unity so i don't now their modern day events and their purposes........

Jayam (talk) 15:23, May 21, 2015 (UTC)

In Unity, both the Assassins and Templars are trying to find the remains of Sages. The Templars want to sequence a full genome of Precursor DNA, so they can get more insight into the First Civilization, while the Assassins are working against this. That's why some random shmuck gets contacted by Bishop to look into Arno's memories, because he encountered (and killed) a Sage, so the Assassins would be able to locate the Sage's body via his memories.
In Rogue, a person at Abstergo was doing their work, but triggered some type of virus when reliving one of Shay Cormac's memories. This alerts Violet da Costa and Juhani Otso Berg, both relatively high-ranking Templars from Sigma Team, to the memories of Shay Cormac. In essence, I think it's Otso Berg that desired to collect footage from Shay Cormac's memories to demoralize the remaining Modern Day Assassins.
The Templars attempted to find the Observatory, but found that the Assassins managed to bury it somewhere in the 18th century. The excavation has been deprioritized, if I memory serves. I think that should answer your questions, but you can check with other users, I might have gotten some things wrong; it's been a while since I played Rogue and Unity ^^; Crook The Constantine District 15:32, May 21, 2015 (UTC)

So aren't the Templars doing anything to conquer people's minds.....to have control on them at this moment?????

And what about Juno and her threat and all that stuff??

Jayam (talk) 16:35, May 21, 2015 (UTC)

I don't think the "mind control" thing is on the Templars' agenda at the moment. They're aware of Juno and her little faction, but I don't think the Templars are actively working against them. Crook The Constantine District 16:45, May 21, 2015 (UTC)

Everything is depicted quite clearly in the games. The Templars don't want to "conquer people's minds". They want to rule over them as benevolent dictators, not enslave them. Juno's currently using her minions, the Instruments of the First Will, to get everyone to upload their digital consciousness into the Grey to live under her rule.

All the answers to your questions are on the wiki. Please take a look around. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 16:46, May 21, 2015 (UTC)

Handbook

Hey, Crook

Sima told me you had the Abstergo Entertainment Handbook, and I've read that it has a profile on Mirabeau and describes some of the items linked with the Assassin hidout in the Sainte-Chapelle. Do you know if any of that info is new, or is it already mentioned in Unity? I'm rather interested in the Mirabeau part since I've updated his page to include everything from Unity, but I don't have the Handbook. I don't know if it's too much trouble to transcibe Mirabeau's profile.--Bovkaffe (talk) 20:20, June 14, 2015 (UTC)

I can't do it this week, but I'll try and get around to it somewhere next week. Feel free to send me a reminder, I might forget. Crook The Constantine District 07:07, June 15, 2015 (UTC)

Templars

So, just to be clear....the Templars are trying to find the sages so that they can get more info about the First Civ. and they wanna do this so that they can easily rule over people right?? they wanted the apple of eden and the observatory so that they could easily rule over people....right?? everything that the templars want ....they want it so that they can use that particular thing (which they're trying to find) to rule over people.........am i correct??

And how did reliving shay cormac's memory help the templars...did they just want to intimidate the Assassins or did they achieve something else by reliving his memories?

Jayam (talk) 20:22, June 14, 2015 (UTC)

I assume "control" is still their ultimate goal, but I'm not sure if the whole Sage deal factors into that very much; it might just be to learn more on the first civ and potentially acquire new artifacts. I'm a bit hazy on the whole thing myself.
Reliving Shay's memories did not achieve very much; Otso Berg apparently wanted to make a video using the footage to demoralize the Assassins, but that's basically it, as far as I know. Crook The Constantine District 07:07, June 15, 2015 (UTC)
