Vithrloekr
Vithrloekr was a former Viking camp of the Wolf Clan in western Vinland.
History
In the 870s, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan discovered the camp, as it was overrun by black bears. Within the camp, Eivor noticed and heard a Norse man asking for help from the bears. Thus, Eivor killed all the bears in the area and investigated the remains. There, Eivor found that the bears were kept for training as "war-bears" for their leader, Gorm Kjotvesson, but it appeared they became loose and killed most of the camp.[1]
