Grand Bazaar
The Grand Bazaar is a commercial market located in Constantinople. During the Renaissance, it was an eminent monument and shopping hub within the Ottoman Empire.
History
The Grand Bazaar opened to the public in 1461 and was a popular market which offerings included food, spices, pottery, and fabric. It was vastly enlarged during the reign of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent during the 16th century.

- The modern day Grand Bazaar is one of the largest covered markets in the world, collecting an average of 250,000 to half a million visitors daily.
- An Assassin, Piri Reis, owned a shop in the bazaar.
