Ezio's Database Picture

The Database was a collection of articles, written and compiled by Shaun Hastings, a member of the Assassin Order, for use within the Animus virtual machine. The database held records detailing assassination targets, allies, contacts, monuments, buildings, cities, documents, Glyphs, Rifts, Assassin's Tombs, Romulus Lairs and other people, places, and events that the Assassin Ezio Auditore came across during his lifetime, that were viewed by his descendant Desmond Miles. [1] [2]

Maintenance

Shaun maintained the database, whenever Ezio saw something of interest, he could flag the Database entry into Desmond's view, for the purpose of gaining greater knowledge about the entry's subject. It also helped Desmond reach tombs, Glyphs and other places of interest when he needed to.

Trivia

  • The database commonly has false information on birth years. For example, Francesco de' Pazzi and Vieri de' Pazzi, who are father and son, are stated to have an age difference of 10.
  • Some of the characters present in Assassin's Creed II do not appear in the database.
  • It is unknown who writes the database entries in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, but Ezio's entry strongly hints it is Clay Kaczmarek (Subject 16): "In any case, Eagle Sense was strong with Ezio. I got a little taste myself, in the short time I spent with him, but since my time with him went dark much sooner than yours did, I never got the full experience."
