They explicitly stated that AC wouldn't go into a GUNZ! GUNZ EVERYWHERE! era as a main setting again(which is why they are now going back in time and not forward) and they won't go into that in the modern day either. But having Watch_Dogs as "A medium you can use to replicate what AC would look like if it was in a proper modern day setting" sounds okay I suppose. Too bad about the hidden blade.
