the reason i found this is cause i find it a little annoying when you see a post where someone has a template sig yet has forgotten that it just throws up the code when they post without being setup on that wiki and so no userpage/talk links either, and i didnt wish to be one of those when i started using a sig template. im sure the ifexist is probably useful elswhere also.
