Well... if you are the type that doesn't use the easy way to win, then yes. And realistically speaking, yes. They don't back down nor do they let you have a breather. They can even bring down your Assassin recruits. But since this is AC we are talking about, the protagonist is a super-human so the skills of some randomly generated NPCs are useless.
