Photios I of Constantinople
Photios I (c. 810 – c. 893 CE) was a Byzantine Greek clergyman, serving two terms as Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. He is also worshipped as a saint by the Orthodox Church.
Photius was also a learned man and scholar, and authored the Bibliotheca, a collection of almost 300 book reviews.
During the 16th century, the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze bought a copy of this book from the book shop in Cappadocia.[1]
