Born: 1689, England
Died: 1719, Príncipe

Cockram's pirate career began during the War of Spanish Succession, when along with Benjamin Hornigold, Daniel Stillwell, and others, he plundered Spanish vessels off the coast of Florida.

Running afoul of the British governor of the Bahamas, Cockram gave up piracy and became a trader, smuggler, and fence, serving as a go-between for the Carolina colonies and the pirate ships.

Later renewing his acquaintance with Hornigold, he fell into pirate-hunting, as most reformed ruffians were wont to do.
