A good inner conflict for Connor would be between him fulfilling his duties as an Assassin or doing what he thinks is right. I mean, he surely must hate all white people, and even though he himself is half-white, he identifies himself as Mohawk. After all, he was born and raised in the tribe. There's no way that he has any sympathy towards the colonists, but he's doing what he's told from his Mentor.
