Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze was making his way through the campagna district when he saw a mutilated woman crying on a bench. He offered help to her but she refused to let him touch her. When asked who did this to her she tells it was her husband Auguste and tells Ezio to tear down his Borgia propaganda posters. Ezio proceeds to remove the posters in the surrounding area, enticing Auguste's rage. Ezio swiftly dispatches his guards and ends his life with an assassination with the [[Hidden Blade]], and thus gives him his last rites. | |||

Auguste Oberlin was a blacksmith from Rome and propoganda agent for the House of Borgia during the early 16th Century. He was assassinated by Ezio Auditore da Firenze after he confronted the Assassin for tearing down his propoganda posters in the Campagna District
Centuries later, his genetic memories were downloaded by Abstergo Industries and used in the Animus training project.

He makes an appearance in the multiplayer mode as the Blacksmith.
